NUR-SULTAN – Turkey, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates remain the most popular travel destinations among the people of Kazakhstan, the president of the Kazakh Association of Tour Operators Inna Rey said in her interview with the agency. press Zakon.kz.
Thailand is another popular destination, but, according to Rey, “local tour operators will only be able to offer more tour packages in the country if the Thai government eases its entry requirements.”
She also said local tour operators hope Greece and Italy will soon be in high demand among tourists.
“We are curious about Europe’s position as we would like flights to European countries to resume anyway. As we are deeply interested in the opening of Greece’s borders, we expect the restrictions be relaxed,” she said.
Rey noted that the issue of vaccination remains open in Greece as different sources provide different information on vaccination requirements to enter the country.
“I’m not so sure, but Poland could also open its borders to tourists. We recently heard that the UK is accepting everyone after removing all COVID-19 related restrictions on international travel. We hope other countries will follow suit. Entry requirements to Croatia have also been simplified, but requirements change every day, so it is too early to discuss anything now,” she added.
According to her, the number of tourists who left the country at the beginning of 2022 is equal to the number of tourists who left Kazakhstan before the start of the pandemic.
“About 200,000 people left Kazakhstan last year because they couldn’t travel anywhere for almost a year and a half, so travel demand has increased,” she added.
