The summer of 2022 marks the first time in a long time that Americans will travel since the pandemic. With nearly 80% of Americans saying they will be traveling this year, we’re curious to know where people will be heading to.

WalletHub recently shared its report on the best 2022 summer travel destinations. The personal finance website compared 100 metro locations across 43 key usability and budget metrics. They analyzed data such as the number of COVID-19 cases, the cheapest flights and the number of attractions.

Average flights to popular summer destinations cost around $356 and take around 3.5 hours. Los Angeles became the most attractive destination on the West Coast, while Washington, DC ranked as the most attractive destination on the East Coast.

Florida and Texas have at least two of their cities in the top 15 on the list. On the contrary, California and New York have the most unpopular destinations.
