Denpasar (ANTARA) – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno has called for the collaboration of all parties, including travel agencies, to support the development and promote the potential of Indonesian tourist villages.
He made the statement while attending the “National Tourism Destination Promotion Mission” event here on Friday.
“The event was well organized by organizing mixed activities through a series of familiarization trips (famtrips) as well as promotions,” he said.
The event was first held in Yogyakarta last month and has proven successful in selling tour packages directly to tourists.
The event promoted 10 tourist villages that were in the top 50 list of Tourism Village Awards 2021 among 50 travel companies.
The villages included eight tourist villages in Bali province, including Jatiluwih, Tenganan Pegringsingan, Ekasari, Pemuteran, Penglipuran, Cau Belayu, Mekarsari and Aan, as well as two tourist villages in East Java province, namely Taman Sari and Pujon Kidul .
The setting up of the event is strategic since the mid-year holiday period is approaching, the minister said. Additionally, the province of Bali will host the G20 summit in November 2022.
“We hope that the tourist villages will become the main choice for organizing side events or field trips to various international events, which will be held in Bali,” Uno said.

Under the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy aims to have 244 tourist villages certified as Independent Tourist Villages by 2024.
At least 150 of the tourist villages are located in the five Super Priority Destinations (DSPs), which include Borobudur Temple (Central Java Province), Lake Toba (North Sumatra Province), Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara Province) ), Mandalika (West Nusa province). Tenggara province) and Manado-Likupang (North Sulawesi province).
“Therefore, pentahelix collaboration between relevant ministries/institutions, local governments, communities, business actors, associations and media is necessary. I believe that villages will become the development agents of Indonesia,” said Uno points out.
Acting deputy for marketing in the ministry, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, said collaboration for the development of tourist destinations is necessary to achieve the theme of the G20 presidency, which is “Recover together, recover stronger” as well. than the ministry’s goal of “Recover Better.”
“Through the implementation of the event, we hope that managers of tourist villages can gain experience in conducting promotions and establishing cooperation with travel agents in marketing tourist destinations. “, she added.
Meanwhile, travel agents can discover new options for tourist attractions in East Java and the Bali region to offer potential tourists, she said.
