Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) recently hosted a “Prepare for a Whole New Heaven” conference attended by over 170 Thai travel agencies. The event was chaired by Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron, Administrator of the THAI Plan, with Mr. Suvadhana Sibunruang, Acting General Manager of THAI, Mr. Nond Kalinta, Commercial Director of THAI, Mr. Cherdphan Chotikhun, Technical Director of THAI, Flg. Disabled. Chingcheep Burirak, Director of Flight Operations of THAI and Management.
Mr. Nond Kalinta said that despite the difficult business environment, THAI has made efforts to move forward by implementing new marketing strategies as follows:
• Achievable Products and Improved Services: THAI focuses on the appropriate use of aircraft and revenue-generating destinations that will allow THAI to increase sales and profits. THAI works closely with partner airlines and Thai Smile Airways to effectively improve the route network for international and domestic destinations to maximize passenger flight comfort. A wide range of customer services has been developed to ensure greater customer satisfaction.
• Pricing and Distribution Channels: Sales distribution will be further improved through collaboration with travel agencies and through online channels. The prices are competitive and standardized on a global scale.
• Marketing communication is targeted and conveyed through impactful digital channels.
A variety of new services have also been introduced with a customer-centric approach, such as privileges for ROP members, mileage collection and redemption channels, pre-selected meal service for Royal Silk Class passengers , improved onboard food and beverages for economy class, full in-flight services and 24-hour call center service. Future services will also be more digitized.
In support of the government’s country reopening policy, in Q1 / 2022, THAI plans to fly to 19 destinations in Asia, nine destinations in Europe, one destination in Australia and 14 domestic destinations operated by Thai Smile Airways which also has planned to operate flights to international destinations such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Vientiane, Yangon, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, etc.
Regarding aircraft preparation, THAI’s technical department carried out maintenance, repair and overhaul of each commercial aircraft in the THAI fleet according to the requirements of aircraft manufacturers. THAI’s technical department has been assessed and certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the United States Federation Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Australian Civil Aviation Authority Safety.
Safety and health excellence has always been the top priority of THAI’s operations department. THAI’s safety and health standards have been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Union Aviation Safety Agency European Union (EASA). All THAI pilots and cabin crew are fully vaccinated and receive regular safety training and drills.
