Singapore Airlines to sell flexible ticket packages

Singapore Airlines has launched a new product that will allow passengers in certain markets to purchase bundles of airline tickets that can be used for future bookings.

Called Flight Pass, the packages will initially be offered on SIA services between Singapore and France, Italy, South Korea, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. This includes Vaccinated Travel Lane flights without quarantine if the journey begins in Singapore.

According to the airline, customers may be able to “lock in discounted airfares for multiple flights” and decide their travel dates at a later date, subject to seat availability. The trip can be personalized based on parameters such as destinations, number of flights, travel period and type of fare.

Tickets purchased as part of a Flight Pass package can also be transferred to colleagues, friends and family, giving organizations the flexibility to assign tickets to employees.

The service was launched in partnership with US travel options provider Optiontown. The SIA has announced its intention to extend the Flight Pass to other destinations in its network in the future.

Lee Lik Hsin, Executive Vice President of Commercial Affairs at Singapore Airlines, said, “As more international flights without quarantine become available, Flight Pass offers Singapore Airlines customers greater flexibility and options when it comes to planning their trips. This allows them to achieve greater savings by pooling their trips and adapting them according to their preferences.
