GDS Vendor Risk Management Product will now include entry requirements for COVID-19 and other issues
Global distribution systems provider Saber Corporation is expanding its SafePoint travel risk management product to include global travel restriction tracking. The product monitors global events in near real-time 24/7, leveraging hundreds of data sources to identify events that may impact travel arrangements and/or traveler safety .
According to an announcement from Saber, Safepoint is providing its travel agencies and business travel customers with information on the spread of COVID-19 and new variants as well as destination entry restrictions imposed by countries, including masks, vaccinations, health documents and quarantine requirements.
The solution helps Saber users make more informed decisions and improve the safety of their travelers by alerting them to restrictions that may impact their routes. Travelers can then use this information to take action at any stage of their journey.
As travel rebounds, Saber believes a duty of care and crisis alert solution is imperative for any travel business, according to Saunvit Pandya, senior director of product management. This is especially true in a world where travel advisories can change quickly.
SafePoint, he said, “is designed to keep travelers and business travel managers informed of critical events in a rapidly changing world.”
