Ontario city makes list of world’s top 100 travel destinations

A new list revealing the top 100 travel destinations in the world has been released and an Ontario city has been selected.

According to the Tourism Sentiment Index, which ranked the 100 most loved destinations in 2021, Mississauga came in at number 42.

It was the only destination in Ontario to make the 2021 list.

“Each of these 100 destinations has won love and an impressive travel sentiment score in one of the toughest years the tourism industry has seen,” the report said.

The number one destination on the 2021 list is the Sunshine Coast, located in Queensland, Australia.

Several other Canadian destinations were on the list, including Canmore, Kelowna, Richmond and Shuswap.

“These hotspots are the top 100 most loved destinations in 2021 based on how people really feel. No one paid to be nominated. said in its report published this week.

“To be able to name the top 100, we kicked off 2022 with an in-depth study of our Tourism Sentiment Index data – that’s 1.6 billion online conversations and publicly available content across 21,330 global destinations. .”

The Tourism Sentiment Index also released a list of the 50 most loved destinations in Canada in 2021.
