Condé Nast Traveler recently named the island of Massachusetts one of the top eight places in the world to travel in September, a month the publication called “the unsung hero of months of travel” due to dwindling crowds and falling prices .

“Now is the perfect time to visit places that are usually teeming with tourists and enjoy some serious natural beauty, luxury hotels, outdoor adventures and more than a few glasses of wine,” the post writes. .

Here is what Condé Nast Traveler wrote, in part, of Nantucket:

“Nantucket isn’t just for the summer. A fall trip to the island will be relatively quiet and crowd-free, but you can still enjoy the same outdoor activities as during peak season. Spend your days boating, golfing, biking, and walking to nearby lighthouses, or take advantage of the lack of queues at Cisco Brewers and The Proprietors. Don’t miss the 10th Nantucket Project (September 23-26), an “ideas conference” where celebrities and innovators give live talks and musical performances, as well as original films. ”
