In this article, we highlight several popular destinations for travelers where they can travel without being subjected to various tests and quarantines related to Covid-19.
Cambodia has been widely recognized by members of the industry as “ASEAN’s most open destination”. And it lives up to its distinction, as fully vaccinated travelers are no longer subject to Covid-19 testing and quarantine upon entry from March 17. Meanwhile, visa on arrival for passengers arriving by land, air and river has also resumed.
In July 2020, the Maldives was one of the first countries to open without quarantine requirements. As of March 4, the country scrapped all remaining travel requirements, meaning fully vaccinated international travelers do not need to present a negative Covid-19 test to enter the country.
Additionally, the Maldives has removed its mask mandate, allowing visitors to take full advantage of the country’s fresh air and truly experience the wide range of unique experiences on this island paradise.
United Arab Emirates
As of February 26, the United Arab Emirates will no longer require PCR tests for fully vaccinated visitors. Under new relaxed guidelines set by the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, vaccinated visitors need only show a vaccine certificate with an approved QR code. Unvaccinated travelers are permitted entry, but they will still be required to present a negative PCR test result prior to arrival within 48 hours.
The UAE has also dropped the need for physical distancing in public places. Masks remain mandatory in indoor public spaces, but optional outdoors.
From March 18, vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers are free to travel to England without taking Covid-19 tests, quarantining or completing a UK passenger locator form. Previously, the Covid test and quarantine exemption only applied to fully vaccinated travellers.

Guinness lovers, rejoice! From March 6, international travelers visiting Ireland can do so without any Covid-19 restrictions. The Irish government has announced that travelers from other countries are no longer required to show proof of vaccination or recovery from Covid. They are also exempted from the obligation to complete the passenger locator form.
However, travelers planning to visit Northern Ireland (to visit the first official Game of Thrones studio tour perhaps?) after staying in Ireland will still need to follow UK travel requirements, including completing a UK passenger locator form.
On February 17, Switzerland lifted nearly all of its pandemic restrictions as the country said the Omicron wave had not resulted in a spike in hospitalizations. Under the new policy, there are currently no testing or quarantine requirements for vaccinated travelers entering Switzerland, and incoming travelers do not have to complete an entry form (trace of passengers).
In addition, when traveling in Switzerland, tourists and locals no longer need to wear a mask or present a vaccination certificate to enter bars, restaurants and other covered places such as sports facilities, theaters or concert halls.
From March 23, people traveling to the Netherlands from outside the EU/Schengen area no longer need to present a negative test result. The Netherlands also lifted its self-quarantine requirement on February 25.
However, to qualify for arrival without Covid-19 testing and without quarantine, travelers must still present proof of vaccination or recovery.
Italy has relaxed entry requirements for travelers from non-EU countries. Since March 1, fully vaccinated or recovered travelers no longer need to take a Covid-19 test. In addition, unvaccinated persons also benefit from quarantine-free entry, but they will still need to present a negative test result. Italy will ease mask requirements from April 30.

The land of fire and ice has lifted all of its Covid-19 biosecurity measures with effect from February 25. This includes border policies, social distancing, mask requirements and gathering limitations. International travelers can now visit Iceland’s world famous glaciers without having to test negative and show proof of vaccination against Covid-19.
As of April 1, fully vaccinated travelers visiting Canada do not need to provide a negative Covid-19 test. Travelers can still be randomly selected for testing, much like how travelers are randomly selected for baggage checks, but they won’t be required to self-quarantine while awaiting their test results.
